As a kitty approaches something. like a cabinet. etc etc. they stir up air currents that bounce back when they hit solid objects. Whiskers detects very faint vibrations caused by these changes in air currents. and act like radar detectors.

Cats whiskers transmit infomation about the size. shape. and speed of nearby objects. which helps cats navigate the world.

Clipping a cat’s whiskers can cause disorientation, as whiskers help with spatial awareness. If whiskers are accidentally trimmed, it may take time for a cat to adjust to the loss. Never cut or trim a cat’s whiskers, as they play a vital role in their sense of balance.

Kitty whiskers are so important for many things especially helping them with getting in and out of small spaces, also.
