The Scottish Fold is a sweet, charming breed. She is an easy cat to live with and to care for. She is affectionate and is comfortable with all members of her family. Her tail should be handled gently.

Scottish Folds tend to be affectionate cats who enjoy cuddling. However, they’re not considered clingy and will happily curl up in their favorite heated bed, too. But if your typically cuddly Scottish Fold suddenly avoids being held, cuddled, or petted, it may be a sign of pain caused by osteochondrodysplasia.

They are known to be friendly cats who enjoy human companionship and thrive in social environments. Scottish Folds are often described as being sweet-natured, gentle, and loving. Their intelligence and playfulness make them delightful companions, as they enjoy interactive play and have sweet facial expressions.

This breed can be traced to Scotland in 1961 when Scottish shepherd William Ross discovered a folded-eared kitten named Susie on his neighbor’s farm. Susie’s mother was a cat with normal-shaped ears, but the father was unknown.
