There are only five to six main cultivars of pears, so the harvest season is late August to early October. Most pears reach optimum harvest maturity while they are still green and hard, and before they ripen on the tree. Therefore, pears are usually harvested based on fruit firmness.
Besides copper and fiber, pears also contain decent amounts of vitamin C, potassium, and vitamin K. Vitamin C is important for immune health and non-heme iron absorption, potassium is important for cellular function, and vitamin K is important for blood clotting.

The BC Drug & Poison Information Centre reports on average 200 calls per year related to wild mushroom exposures. So don't trust many mushrooms in the wild!
Unlike plants that rely heavily on direct sunlight for photosynthesis, mushrooms do not require direct sunlight. In fact, excessive exposure to direct sunlight or full sun can be detrimental to their development. The ideal lighting condition for mushrooms is often described as mimicking natural daylight.
Three ounces of raw mushrooms, about 1 cup, provide 1 to 2 grams of protein. Mushrooms contain an indigestible carbohydrate called chitin that contributes "bulk" to our diet. Mushrooms contain high amounts of selenium, vitamin D, and vitamin B6 Aswell. Selenium can help prevent cell damage in our bodies, vitamin D helps with cell growth, and vitamin B6 helps our bodies form red blood cells. Toadstool, the Maori name for it is werewere kōkako but the scientific name we use for this unmistakable smurf blue mushroom is Entoloma hochstetteri, named after the German naturalist Ferdinand von Hochstetter. Edibility of this beautiful mushroom is unknown and it may be poisonous as many of the genus Entoloma are.
Toadstool mushroom is common in forests throughout New Zealand, where it grows on soil among litter in broadleaf/podocarp forest. It fruits in January to July.

Dolphins are known to be very intelligent animals. Some dolphins even being trained! Dolphins. other than being smart. Are very social animals! Often living in pods of up to a dozen individuals, though pod sizes and structures vary greatly between species and locations.
in places with a high abundance of food. pods are merge tempoarily. forming a superpod. such groupings may exceed 1,000 dolphins. Membership in pods is not rigid; interchange is common. They establish strong social bonds. and will stay with injured or ill members, helping them to breath by bringing them to the surface if needed.
This altruism does not appear to be limited to their own species. The dolphin Moko in new zealand has been observed guiding a female pygmy sperm whale together with her calf out of shallow water where they had stranded several times. They have also been seen protecting swimmers from sharks by swimming circles around the swimmers. or charging the sharks to make them go away.

Numerous challenges are found in studying wild parrots, as they are difficult to catch and once caught, they are difficult to mark. Most wild bird studies rely on banding or wing tagging, but parrots chew off such attachments.
Parrots also tend to range widely, and consequently many gaps occur in knowledge of their behaviour. Some parrots have a strong, direct flight. Researchers at the New York Institute of Technology published findings that showed parrots used their beaks as a "third limb" to propel themselves. On the ground, parrots often walk with a rolling gait.

The feature of the axolotl that attracts most attention is its healing ability: the axolotl does not heal by scarring and is capable of the regeneration of entire lost appendages in a period of months, and, in certain cases, more vital structures, such as tail, limb, central nervous system, and tissues of the eye and heart.
They can even restore less vital parts of their brains. They can also readily accept transplants from other individuals, including eyes and parts of the brain, restoring these alien organs to full functionality. In some cases, axolotls have been known to repair a damaged limb, as well as regenerating an additional one, ending up with an extra appendage that makes them attractive to pet owners as a novelty.
In metamorphosed individuals, however, the ability to regenerate is greatly diminished. The axolotl is therefore used as a model for the development of limbs in vertebrates. There are three basic requirements for regeneration of the limb: the wound epithelium, nerve signaling, and the presence of cells from the different limb axes. A wound epidermis is quickly formed by the cells to cover up the site of the wound. In the following days, the cells of the wound epidermis divide and grow quickly forming a blastema, which means the wound is ready to heal and undergo patterning to form the new limb.
The axolotl is carnivorous, consuming small prey such as mollusks, worms, insects, other arthropods, and small fish in the wild. Axolotls locate food by smell, and will "snap" at any potential meal, sucking the food into their stomachs with vacuum force.

The Ocicat largely resembles a ocelot. giving it its name "Ocicat", The Ocicat is an all-domestic breed of cat which resembles a wild cat but has no recent wild DNA in its gene pool.
The Ocicat is a medium to large cat with agouti markings. It has the appearance of an athletic animal: well-muscled and lithe. The muzzle is broad and well defined with gentle curvature of the head.
